Teotihuacan

This is Teotihuacan - very impressive and very easy to visit from Mexico City. While in Mexico City, we'll want to visit Xochimilco, the Central de Abastos market in the Iztapalapa borough, and the Trotsky Museum in Coyoacan.

Passports

I just remembered my passport expires in March. I'll get it renewed next week. Are all yours up to date?
I'd like to see some Mayan ruins. A roadtrip sounds nice. How easy is it to rent a car?

Itinerary ideas?

I was thinking we could fly into DF, spend a few days there then fly ($480 roundtrip less than 2 hours) or bus (about 100 bucks - 17 hour trip - Mexican buses are really nice though) to Campeche (or check this out) in the Yucatan, rent a car and cruise around the little indigenous towns along the Guatemalan/Belizian boarder checking out all the crazy Mayan ruins along the way. The fly/bus back to DF for return flights.

so that would look like:

1. Fly to DF
2.DF
3.DF
4.DF
5. Fly or bus to Yucatan
6.Campeche/Roadtrip
7.Roadtrip
8.Roadtrip
9.Campeche to DF
10. Fly to USA

NYT Guide

Hey everybody. Off the top of my head, this could be a resource. The NYT probably suggests things that are bougier and more expensive than what we're looking for, but it could be a start.

Places I've been to and would totally go to again:
  • Mexico City (we should spend 3 or 4 days there)
  • Veracruz City, where Amos will get laid while the rest of us dance to son jorocho music in the street with the elderly women of Veracruz.
Ultimately, though, Mexico City is the only thing that's non-negotiable for me.
